OUR STORY
Robert Quevreaux was the founder and owner of Country Squire Cleaners, one of the longest continuous operating dry cleaners in Saint Louis, Missouri. He also owned and founded Sunset Tennis Center. Robert Quevreaux graduated high school in 1948, then continued his education at Joplin Junior college on a full football scholarship.
Following college, he joined the army serving stateside as a paratrooper. Mr. Quevreaux's first job after the military was driving a delivery truck for a large dry-cleaning business. This is what first sparked his interest in the dry-cleaning world. Six months following that job in 1955, Robert and a high school friend, Bob Striler, decided to create a dry-cleaning business of their own, formally known as Country Squire Cleaners, but it didn't stop there. In 1972, when playing tennis was a favored activity among young professionals; Robert Quevreaux and Striler then built Sunset Tennis Center, which at the time, was one of the few indoor tennis complexes in the Saint Louis area. The family businesses are long-standing with many customers being generational.
